Community Fun Day helps raise over £200 for a local food bank

The Monkmoor Community Fun Day held at Monkmoor Court, Oswestry on Friday 30 April brought both the local community and other organisations together to help support Oswestry’s Food Bank.

A total of £223.50 was raised at the event along with a box of food which people donated at the event.

The Community Fun Day included a variety of activities for all ages, including name the teddy, clothes swap, bingo, tombola stall, jewellery stall, tuck shop, and lots more. The event also provided an opportunity for people to receive health, financial and transport advice.

Organisations who attended the event to offer advice and information included:

• Oswestry Food bank,
• Oswestry Tenants Working Group
• Sure Start children’s services
• The local fire service
• Wiltshire Farm Foods
• Shropshire Housing Alliance
• The Qube,
• Oswestry and District Stroke Club
• Refuge UK
