Contract: Electrical Re-wiring and Associated Works

Contract Duration: Up to 5 years.

Contract Value: Up to approximately £ 600,000 per year

Contract Details: Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing Ltd manages and maintains approximately 4100, tenanted domestic Council properties located over a large geographical area in the North West and South East of Shropshire.  As part of our management of these homes we aim to keep all properties to a good state of repair.

Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing carry out various construction, refurbishment and maintenance contracts to all homes and communal areas of buildings. As part of the planned maintenance programme the Organization will be procuring electrical works to properties in the Oswestry and Bridgnorth areas. The works will include electrical re—wiring, periodical electrical testing and remedial works. The works will primarily be to domestic dwellings include houses, bungalows, associated stores and garages, but could also potentially include 3 storey flats and maisonettes, Communal areas  and Community Centres.

Contractor Requirements: Contractors who are selected to tender will be expected to demonstrate a proven track record in carrying out electrical contract work whilst maintaining excellent customer focus. Service Providers must also demonstrate previous experience of liaising with tenants who may be vulnerable and have special requirements. Contractors must be NICEIC or ECA approved or similar and be able to produce electronic test certificates on site. CHAS / Construction Line accredited would also be expected.

Contractors who are selected to Tender will be assessed on both the cost and quality aspects of the service they offer.

Tender Process: This is a two-stage tender process.  This Notice along with the return of the Request to Participate Document forms the first stage and will be used to select successful applicants who will then proceed to the second stage of being invited to tender. Unsuccessful applicants will be informed and may seek feedback from Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing.
