The team at STAR Housing were proud to present the cheque for £5370 to Asthma + Lung UK after an extremely creative fundraising mission! The charity works tirelessly to improve and support lung health, from research and campaigning to advice and support.
Sadly, a colleague at STAR Housing, Martin Whitelegg passed away in summer 2021 after an illness, Martin’s favourite thing to do was travel so STAR decided to try and get to one of his favourite destinations Croatia by running, cycling, and swimming the miles.
They got to Croatia but didn’t stop there and got all the way to Australia! This was completed in March. Fundraising and kind donations from local businesses including the Dodd Group, Enterprise, Roofrite and Novus Solutions will really help the Charity.
Martin's wife said “I would like to personally thank Everyone at STAR Housing for the support they have given me. The staff have all worked so hard to raise vital funds for Asthma & Lung Foundation in Martins memory. I was honoured to visit the office and meet his colleagues who he always spoke so fondly of. He really loved working for STAR housing.”
