Residents at Rhea Hall and St Peters View sheltered scheme have been busy raising over £100 for the 'Highley First Responders' to help them provide emergency care as quickly as possible.
The residents raised the money by running tombolas in their community room as well as hosting coffee mornings and taking part in carnivals. This was all in an effort to help the local First Responders who in such a rural community play such a vital role in the emergency care of people in Highley.
The First Responders who are local men also provided first aid training to the residents, with one resident being saying "they explained everything so well and no question was too much trouble"
Our Senior Community Support Services Officer Nigel Wilson commented "It is fantastic for us to hear about such noble and selfless acts of charity taking place in STAR communities and stories like this never get old for us"
