Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing (STAR Housing), Cornovii Developments and Shropshire Council recently joined forces to host an exclusive asset tour of some of the newest housing developments in Shropshire. This exciting event was a unique opportunity to showcase the incredible strides that both organisations are making in improving the housing landscape of this beautiful county.

"The tour was an excellent opportunity to showcase the commitment of Shropshire Council and its two housing companies Cornovii Developments and Star Housing to deliver high quality, affordable homes. The collaboration between the developers and Shropshire Council will be beneficial for the residents of Shropshire. It is essential that we work together to create quality housing for local people," said Dean Carroll, the Portfolio Holder for Growth, Regeneration and Housing at Shropshire Council

STAR Housing has exciting targets explaining, "our total investment of over £18m will result in the delivery of 119 affordable homes, with plans to complete all schemes by November 2025. We are dedicated to providing high-quality homes that cater to the local housing needs. In total STAR Housing will invest over £50m on new homes during the next 5 years.

Cornovii Developments is equally ambitious, with a total forecast investment of over £140 million on new homes by 2029. "Our target is to construct 736 homes, including 140 affordable and 33 private rental sector homes," said Derek Humphreys Chair of Cornovii Developments Limited. We currently have over 226 new homes onsite and are proud to be working alongside STAR Housing and Shropshire Council to provide quality homes to the people of Shropshire."

The tour was attended by a number of local stakeholders, including Shropshire Council, who were impressed with the progress made by both developers. Speaking on behalf of Shropshire Council, Councillor Mark Jones said, "It's great to see such investment in Shropshire, with both STAR Housing and Cornovii Developments leading the way in providing quality homes for local people."

The tour consisted of visiting 8 developments and speaking to the knowledgeable development teams. As a special treat, the tour stopped for lunch at OsNosh Oswestry, where they were treated to an amazing meal cooked by students of the Marches School in Oswestry.

The future of housing in Shropshire is looking bright, with STAR Housing, Cornovii Developments and Shropshire Council all working together to provide high-quality, affordable homes for local people.
