Housing with Care Awards recognises and celebrates excellence in accommodation and services for retirement integrated communities, people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problems, retirement villages, assisted living, extra care housing and supported living and shared lives schemes.

Our Housing Support Team has been shortlisted for the Housing team category.

The Housing Support team at Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing has demonstrated an outstanding approach to care and support that delivers exceptional outcomes. Working in a rural location can be tough, with more challenging lifestyles, more severe problems and fewer external resources, they've stepped up to fill the gap.

Tony Deakin, Chair of STAR Board says: “Our fantastic Housing Support Team deserve this recognition for the amazing work they do, helping our tenants to not only sustain their tenancies but to manage other aspects of their life.”

Dean Carroll, Shropshire Council Cabinet Member for Growth and Regeneration, said: “I am delighted to hear the STAR Housing team has been nominated for this award. I know they are all very dedicated to supporting tenants and maintaining strong support networks with them. The skills of the team allow us to create a healthy environment for people to thrive and feel secure in their homes. I wish them well for the final.”

We are proud of our team and their exceptional contributions in the housing and care service, and believe that their work deserves this recognition. The award ceremony will take place in London, in early June.
