Following a condition survey carried out in your home, the Surveyor will decide if your kitchen or bathroom are in poor condition. If so, you will be added to our replacement programme.
The decision to upgrade either the kitchen or bathroom is based on the condition survey results and the Decent Homes Standard which generally states that:
Kitchens need to be in poor condition and over 30 years old.
Bathrooms need to be in poor condition and over 40 years old.
In certain circumstances, both may be done at the same time.
If you are on the replacement programme, you will be sent a letter with a pre-paid envelope informing you that you are on the programme. There will be a tear off slip for you to complete to let us know whether you would like to have the work done. If we do not receive the slip it is assumed you do not want the replacement.
You will then be contacted by our contractor to arrange a convenient date for a survey to take place and for you to choose the colours for you replacement kitchen or bathroom.
After the survey our contractors will then give you a date for the work to start and advise you of what you need to do in advance of the work.
It normally takes 12 working days for a kitchen replacement and 7 working days for a bathroom replacement
Normally one room is done at a time to ensure you have access to facilities.
You will not be without cooking facilities and will have a water supply available. In the event of the cooker being disconnected for a night you will be provided with a small portable cooker /microwave.
All replacement kitchens are currently made by Howdens and we use their Greenwich range. There is a choice of Greenwich Light Oak or Greenwich Grey units
Bungalows or Ground floor flats are now fitted with Level Access Showers
No there will be a connected W.C. at the end of each working day.
